Esprit 80ED Setup

Description

This is my new setup with the 80ED on the Celestron AVX mount. It shows the ASI120MM-S guide cam attached to the Orion 70 mm Multi-Use Finderscope. I use an extra Celestron mirror diagonal to get the proper backfocus. This combination of guide scope and guide cam has worked well. So far, I have not had problems finding a guide star.

You can also see the SkyWatcher Field Flattener that came with the scope. It's the gray cylinder with thumb grooves just above the Canon T2i.

I have added Astrozap dew heaters and a Kendrick dew heater controller . They work very well and eventhough the card table was soaked with dew (93% RH), the scopes were dry.

To keep the laptop dry and protect it from cold, I bought a Sterilite storage tub and used a hole saw to add some cable access holes. The laptop sits on an angled Targus stand. During most of the imaging session, the lid is on, but I can use the hinged lid handles to gently remove/replace the lid anytime to check on things, without disturbing the scope. I just leave the top lip of the tub hanging slightly over the edge of the table so that the lid can be attached/detatched without having to lift the tub.

I'm using the revisions to add other shots of the same setup.

Thanks for looking!
